Artists in Residence will be running for two weeks scheduled to happen in May (1st -14th 2023) at the YL8 HIVE in Kawempe suburbs located in Kampala, Uganda. Featuring 30 artists sound and music productions, podcast recordings (in various discussion themes such as mental health, climatic and environmental issues, creative economy, sharing our community inner experiences, and our cultural backgrounds.), local community drum circles and documentary film making. 30 Artists (drum percussionists, musicians, rappers, poets, story tellers, producers, beat makers and filmmakers.) will be selected from across Africa, Europe, America and other parts of the world through an open call for Artists that will run for a month end of January till end of February. After the end of the of the residence, Artists will then do various shows, tours, screenings, and collaborations with other community local Artists across Uganda during the AVA Hip Hop Festival that will run from 15th -21st May 2023.
